HS Baseball Tonight

FINAL:
SEG 11
TRINITY 10

Southeast Guilford was up 10-2 over Trinity in the top of the 5th when I left out due to rain and the oncoming WWE Monday Night Raw show.

Trey Gilmore was in line to be the winning pitcher with relief help from sophomore Adam Kirkpatrick.

Tivon Clark had a three-run triple and Kirkpatrick added a two-run triple for the SEG Falcons.

SEG back in action at 5:15 PM on Tuesday afternoon in round two of the Mid-Piedmont 3-A Tournament at SEG.

High Point Wesleyan was leading Forsyth Country Day 5-1 in the 5th in High Point tonight. The top name in the FCD Furies lineup, Chris Munnelly, could not play due to collapsed lung he suffered this past weekend. The lung injury was not baseball related and he has been cleared to return to the field later in the week.

We hope to have more details on both of these games on Tuesday morning.

  1. MPC tournament semi-finals now pushed back to Wed @ 5:15 at SEG
    SEG defeated Trinity 11 – 10

The other two games were suspended because of the weather and will resume today at 5:00 PM

    SWR leads Randleman 5 – 1 after 3 1/2 innings
    ER leads Asheboro 5 – 4 after 4 innings.

  2. I don’t think we’ll see any high school games today and the Mid-Piedmont Conference was probably smart to start their tournament on Monday so it will at least be finished by Saturday.

I was wondering how that SEG-Trinity game might finish up and to honest, it sounds like the Falcons almost let that one get away. Up 3-0 early, then 6-1, 9-1, 10-2 and a few pitching changes, a few errors and the wet ball/field and the next thing you it’s 11-10.

Glad they(SEG) got the win and if this rain goes on as it looks now, they might not be back on the field until Thursday.
