Greensboro’s Will Bowman at NC Amateur

DURHAM, N.C. – UNC Greensboro’s Will Bowman finished fourth this past
 weekend at the 49th North Carolina Amateur Championship held at Durham’s Old Chatham Golf Club.
 
Bowman, who will be a senior next season, finished five shots off the lead
with a five-under par 283 for the weekend. The Greensboro, N.C. native carded a final round 72 on Sunday to finish five shots behind Mark McMillen and be a part of a five-way tie for fourth place.
 
UNCG’s Ryan Heisey, a native of New Bern, N.C. who recently finished his
collegiate career, placed in 29th place at five-over par 293, shooting a  final round 71. Kyle Sonday, who tied for low amateur score at the North
Carolina Open 10 days earlier, finished tied for 51st at 13-over par 301.
Sonday, a native of Cary, N.C., will be a junior next season.
 
Spartan head coach Terrance Stewart made the cut, as well, but finished in
 59th place after a final round 82 dropped him to 18-over par 306. Rising
 senior Drew Younts did not make the cut after rounds of 79 and 76.
