Tuggle strikes it Richburg, bringing in a talent from the Big Orange

Bianca Richburg, a recent graduate of Orange High School in Mebane, NC, has committed to attend and play basketball at Greensboro College.

Richburg, who will play for first-year Pride Head Coach Randy Tuggle, concluded a stellar career for OHS. She led the Panthers in 13 of 16 offensive categories and helped the team to a 17-6 season and a berth in the state playoffs.

A forward, Richburg scored 15.4 points and 12.4 rebounds for Orange as a senior. Her 385 rebounds were a program single season record. She is the OHS career leader in blocked shots and was a two-time first team all conference performer.

“Bianca was one of our top recruits, so we are delighted that she will be joining our program,” Tuggle said. “She plays with a lot of energy and we expect her to be a force in the post for us.”

Last year Bianca played AAU basketball for Phoenix Basketball in Greensboro. She was listed in the ESPN prospect top 100 list, and was rated in the top 20 among local girls basketball programs.

Richburg joins a program that just completed the best season of any Pride basketball team. GC went 27-3, won the USA South regular season title and advanced to the NCAA championships second round. The Pride ended the year ranked 23rd in the nation.
