Palomino Baseball update

The Palomino season is winding down and finds Chatham Co. in first place with the Elks and Reno’s in a late season race for second.

The Elks secured a big win Thur. night at Chatham Co. 15-9 in 8 innings. Quinton Scales went the distance on the mound for the Elks as they earned a season split (2-2) with the boys from Chatham Co.

Today at War Memorial the Elks came from behind to defeat the Reno’s 3-2 in a big game. Brandon Wyrick (Reno’s) and Kevin Rose (Elks) dueled for 6 innings with Reno’s leading 2-1 after 6 innings, but the Elks got to Wyrick for 2 runs in the top of the 7th to take the lead. Rose went the distance for the Elks to earn the win. These two teams meet again tomorrow at War Memorial in another joust for position.

  1. Elks vs. Reno’s at 4pm at War Memorial Stadiumm according to the pre-season schedule and the Elks vs. Villains at 2pm also at WMS according to the same schedule.

    Updated and THANKS!

  2. Renos shelled the Elks 17-2 with everyone for Renos making up for not hitting on Saturday.

  3. Big game on Tuesday night between North Chatham and Reno’s. Game will be played at Northwood High School (moved from Chatham Central) at 7:00 p.m. Game will be on the radio 1570 WNCA out of Siler City. North Chatham has a one-game lead over Reno’s in the standings. Should be a good one for anyone wanting to come out and watch some good baseball. Watching the middle infield of Reno’s is worth the price of admission.

  4. It looks like Reno’s is becoming the team to watch out for, “the team to beat”, if you will.

  5. The middle infield for Reno’s is very good. The best in the league. The Wyrick kid is very good. But, when he pitches his replacement has had some key errors that have cost them some runs. I hear he just graduated where is he going to school??

  6. Thats pizza catcher. I here the Bingham kid from Southeast, Bradley from Randleman, and a the first baseman form Rockingham is heading to RCC. Sounds like Marks is getting some pretty good talent at RCC. They may be worth watching the next year or two.

  7. There also getting Mick Raynor, Jason Davis, and Harrison Revels all from Eastern Guilford. And could have a couple big local transfers to the ROC before everything is said and done.

  8. The game between North Chatham & Reno’s scheduled to be played at Northwood High School has been moved to Randleman High School tonight at 7:00 p.m. In case you were planning on coming out to watch them.

  9. Elks over DBacks tonight at Stoner-White 5-0. Ray Crawford blasts another HR for the Elks. Trevor Brackett and Kevin Rose combine for the 2-hit shutout. Brackett gets the win. The Elks had a great season!

  10. North Chatham over Reno’s tonight at Randleman High School 10 – 7. Last game for the Reno’s is Thursday night at Stoner-White at 6:00. The pressure is on the Reno’s for a win.
