Fred Whitfield still doing it at Achievements Unlimited Camp

Fred Whitfield started his Achievements Unlimited Basketball Camp around 25 years ago and it’s still going this week at the SportsPlex on 16th Street.

Fred had Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets stop in yesterday and today he had the campers going through drills in the morning and running full-court games in the afternoon.

Fred has come a long since his days here in Guilford County as a student at Southeast Guilford High School. His title now reads President and Chief Operating Officer for Bobcats Sports and Entertainment, aka:The Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association.

Fred has been Michael Jordan’s right-hand man for many years and he is his own man when it comes to running the camps and serving in the community. When Fred was named President of the Bobcats, he brought in his old high school teacher and coach Bill Slayton from Southeast Guilford for the special occasion.

Fred remembers people and he is working hard with his camps and with the ‘Cats.
