Tucker makes like a trucker: Leaving GC headed toward JMU

Kama Tucker has resigned as Greensboro College’s head softball coach, announced Pride Athletics Director Kim Strable. Tucker will be the pitching coach at NCAA Division I James Madison University.

Boasting a 144-92-4 (.608) record coaching The Pride, Tucker has coached 38 all conference players. Additionally, she has mentored two CoSIDA regional academic team honorees, five all-region performers, and The Pride’s first conference player of the year in 2006 and USAS rookie of the year in 2009.

“Coach Tucker has done a remarkable job leading our softball program, and that includes far more than just coaching,” Strable said. “Whether you’re talking about character development, community service and involvement, academic performance, or simply creating an all-around standard of excellence, she was among our best leaders.”
