Colts top Rockingham County

In game two last night at War Memorial Stadium the Greensboro Green Colt All-Star team topped Rockingham County 7-2.

This was a scrimmage and RC faced Greensboro Gray in game one of the doubleheader as both Greensboro teams try and get some work in before the tournament gets rolling next week.

When I dropped by, AJ Williams was on the hill for Green and he looked as solid as he did when I saw him for the first time pitching for Lincoln Middle School against Josh Tobias and Southeast Guilford a few years back.

The Miller kid from Southwest Guilford came in later to pitch and I also saw Luis Paula, the McCanns, Colon, Plante and Eric Stevens for the first time last night. I don’t remember the Stevens kid from Grimsley this past season, but he is right in the middle of the Colt All-Star action.

I had seen Sanders Kuxhausen and Sawyer Highfill before and they were out there too last night. If you are saying what about me, I was out there too, then send us your name.

As always the best stadium painter in Greensboro, Donnie Stowe as there with Larry and Patsy Moore, Larry Farrer, Jim Holmes, Reid Holmes, Mr. Reader, Tony Sutphin and Cal Sutphin among others out there checking out the action………

Final again was 7-2 Greensboro Green with a line score of:

7-9-0
2-3-0

  1. Reviewing the South Region Bracket on the Colt Home page, looks like one of the Greensboro teams is playing July 22 at 8 pm, July 23 at 6 pm and 8 pm, and July 24 at 8 pm. Hope the community baseball backers come out to Stoner White in full suppport of the team and the Greensboro Colt Baseball tradition. So many people in the community have contributed to this program over the years. We are very thankful for your time and efforts!!! I know the Colt veterans will be there pulling for the team!!!
