Post 87 falls to Mooresville, Series continues Saturday at Finch Field

Mooresville topped Legion Post 87 from High Point last night in Mooresville and the series will resume tomorrow evening at historic Finch Field in Thomasville, the home of the HiToms.(Tommies)

Post 87 suffered the 8-5 loss last night to Mooresville and now the best-of-five series stands at two games-to-one with Post 87 still out in front.

A few of Benny Phillips’ front-men were reporting yesterday that this was a best-of-three series, but it goes to the winner in the best-of-five games and Post 87 can still wrap up the series with a win Satruday(Game time TBD at on-line time, not press time) in T’ville.

In Thursday’s game for Post 87, Kyle Brandenburg(Ragsdale) was hot again, going 3-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Nathan Midkiff(High Point Wesleyan) went 1-3 with a run and Alex White was 1-4 with 2 RBI’s. Clinton Ingram took the loss out on the mound for Post 87.

Saturday in Thomasville it’s Post 87 versus Mooresville for the right to move on to the Legion State Tournament in Shelby which was won last year by Randolph County Post 45 with Austin Moyer and Jeff Medley and led by Ronnie Pugh as manager.
