East Carolina-West Virginia Kickoff Time Set For 3:30 p.m.

Pirates, Mountaineers To Battle On ESPN360

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The kickoff time for East Carolina’s non-conference contest against West Virginia, scheduled for September 12 at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, has been set for 3:30 p.m. (EDT) according to an announcement by WVU Director of Athletics Ed Pastilong Wednesday afternoon.

The game between the Pirates and Mountaineers will be streamed live online on ESPN360.com – ESPN’s signature broadband sports TV network.

The Mountaineers, one of three Bowl Championship Series (BCS) opponents on ECU’s 2009 schedule along with North Carolina and Virginia Tech, will look to extend a 12-game home winning streak against the Pirates. After falling to WVU 48-7 during its last matchup in Morgantown two years ago, East Carolina rebounded to post a 24-3 victory over the then eighth-ranked Mountaineers last September 6 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

In all, the two programs have squared off against each other on 20 previous occasions, including seven consecutive meetings beginning in 2002.

Fifth-year head coach Skip Holtz has led the Pirates to three consecutive bowl appearances for the first time since 1999-2001 and their first-ever Conference USA championship after ECU earned a 9-5 mark last season – the program’s highest win total in nine years.

The Pirates will report to preseason camp Thursday, Aug. 6 before officially opening the ’09 campaign Sept. 5 against three-time Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) national champion Appalachian State.
