ROCCO MEDIATE COMMITS TO WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two-time Wyndham Championship winner Rocco Mediate will play in the 2009 Wyndham Championship, it was announced today. The 70th Wyndham Championship is now less than three weeks away.

Mediate, who won the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event in 1993 and 2002, is fifth on the Wyndham Championship’s all-time money winners list with $1,139,484.56. Mediate’s 2009 Wyndham Championship appearance will be his 18th but his first since 2004. He committed to play in last year’s event but withdrew because of late-season fatigue following his runner-up finish to Tiger Woods in the U.S. Open and the resulting grueling remainder of the season.

“Anytime a two-time winner like Rocco joins the field, it’s a big deal,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “Rocco is a fan favorite worldwide, but he is especially loved in these parts where he captured two of his five PGA TOUR victories.”

The 70th Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2009 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Tickets are available online at www.wyndhamchampionship.com, at Piedmont-Triad area Harris Teeter locations or through the tournament office. The tournament thanks title sponsor Wyndham Worldwide and premier partners, BB&T, Flow Automotive, Harris Teeter and VF Corporation for their continued support.

Additional tournament information is available at www.wyndhamchampionship.com or through the tournament office at (336) 379-1570. For more information about Wyndham Worldwide, please visit www.WyndhamWorldwide.com.
