The Kernersville Bulldogs are the team to beat: They just whipped the HiToms last night

The Kernersville Bulldogs pounded out fifteen hits in 11-3 victory over the Coastal Plain League HiToms. Gearing up for the CVCL championship tournament this weekend in Hickory, NC the Bulldogs used a strong offensive attack and errorless defense to come away with the victory.

The Bulldogs pounded out an early three runs in the top of the first inning and would never lose the lead. Leading the offensive attack was Myles Pearl, 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles. Mike Parker and Lester Rivenbark also had multi-hit performances on the night. Parker was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Rivenbark was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Bulldog starter Brandon Johnson tossed two innings, surrendering two hits and two earned runs. Justin Wilson tossed one inning of shutout baseball, picking up his third win of the season.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, August 1st at 12:30 PM at South Caldwell High School. The Bulldogs will face the winner of the Catawba Valley Stars and Fuquay Varina Twins.
