Elon picked to do well, Guilford hanging in, while N.C. A&T and Greensboro College rebuild

The semi-annual local College Football Kick-Off Luncheon was held at the Greensboro Coliseum today and each of the area’s coaches spoke and there were questions for the coaches and the local players.

Elon is picked to finish second in the Southern Conference right behind Appalachian State and the Phoenix have also been ranked #9 in the nation by The Sporting News and Elon checks in at #10 in AGS pre-season poll and the Phoneix are listed at #14 in both the Athlon and Lindy’s publications.

    A &T’s homecoming is October 31. That will be a crazy night in the ‘boro

  2. Methodist is also a key game for Guilford 9/12. It’ll be the 20th anniversary of the first game between both teams. Guilford and Methodist have dualed on the gridiron in every season since 1989. It’s not the Soup Bowl, but not a bad yearly rivalry.
