We received this note earlier today, from JD Springer, on yesterday’s article about the big announcement that is due, on ESPNU, today at 5:30pm……

Four-star defensive end Chris McCain (Greensboro, N.C./Central Carolina Sports Academy) will announce his decision at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPNU’s “Recruiting Insider” show featuring Tom Luginbill and Craig Haubert.

The 6-foot-6, 205-pounder is down to Oregon, California and Maryland. He had multiple scholarship offers, but has always had his eye on the West Coast programs, so there is a good chance he ends up at one of the two Pac-10 teams on his list of finalists.

I had the opportunity of getting to know this young man last year. I wish him the best of luck on getting on the right track for the next level. Great talent.

Yes, Chris is a very nice young man. I wish him the best of luck also! I guess there will be some late nights over the next few years watching all these Carolina boys who are headin out to the west coast!

Congrats to Chris! He will love the west coast!

Congrats Christian and your family as well. Take care of business, get your grades right and don’t leave that place without your degree. Make some tackles along the way as well.

How did he end up at Northern and why ? Page has one of the most heralded football programs around.

  • Andy said,

We hope to have an interview coming later this weekend that will answer these and other questions for you….

This is not about Page, this is about a young man having the chance to better himself. Whatever problem you have with Northern is yours, but let the young man enjoy what just happened to him and may God bless him.
