Notre Dame coach at the Dudley-Smith game on Friday night

David Amerson, DB, for the Dudley Panthers made the trip out to South Bend, Indiana last weekend to the visit the campus of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Irish must really like what they are seeing in David, because on Friday night, ND had one of their coaches at the Dudley-Smith football game at Tarpley Stadium.

Dudley Coach Steven Davis told us that David’s trip out to South Bend went real well last weekend and now Notre Dame is making it a point to travel cross-country and come see David Amerson line up and go live against the local competition.

Amerson has been fighting injuries all season, but he still found the time to line up at wide receiver and grab a pass from Dudley QB Alex Moore in the Panthers’ 22-0 win over the Smith Golden Eagles.

Moore completed several passes to Jeremy Reynolds, JR Peterson and Amerson and Moore was picked off at least once on the night and it came on an early Panther drive that stopped Dudley from getting into the end zone.

The Notre Dame recruiter/scout saw Dudley DB Chris Simmons take a pick to the house as he carried it back all the way for a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown. Major Bryant also caught the scout’s eye as he turned in another fine performance for the Panther “D”.

Smith’s defense is much-improved, but on this night the win belonged to the Panthers with a big-time college scout in the house watching the Panthers taking care of business in their house inside Tarpley Stadium.

David Amerson is a big target on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish radar screen and we may find out soon if David plans to make South Bend his new home for the next four years and again, Coach Davis said Amerson had a positive visit out to Indiana last weekend and I guess that’s one of the main reasons why the Notre Dame coach was in the house on Lincoln Street, the road that leads to Tarpley Stadium, tonight to see DA go at it in person…….
