The Greensboro College golf team is ranked second in the nation in the Golfstat rankings released last week. Dirk Fennie’s team trails only Methodist in the statistical ratings.

The Pride placed second to the Monarchs at the Greensboro College Invitational, which concluded last Tuesday. Led by individual runerup Brock Elder (Greensboro, NC/Vandalia Christian), GC recorded a a two-day 591 (292-299). GC held off Guilford and Oglethorpe, which are third and fifth on the rankings.

“This is great news and I’m proud of the way our guys have worked,” Fennie said. “However, we are no position to rest on our laurels. The team must continue to improve and compete if we are to be successful this year.”

Greensboro College returned to action over the weekend at Randolph Macon’s Ted Keller Invitational in Richmond, Va.
