Dudley’s David Amerson on the radar in the Wake Forest scouting system

I received this information this week on David Amerson, DB/Dudley Panthers, and even though David is getting plenty of offers from various schools, he is still high on the Wake Forest Demon Deacon list of prospects.

When you already have two proven winners like Dominque Midgett and Kenny Okoro from Dudley HS in the WFU football program, you have to believe that the Deacs will take a long look at David Amerson…….

Here’s what came in this week from Wake Forest Scout.com and you can see all the possible Deacs of the future at Click Here. The Deacons have a solid program and it would get even stronger with a fine young man such as David Amerson coming on board.

Here’s the view on the DA:

Amerson: “I can break on the ball when it’s in the air. I’m very physical and have the ability to take the ball back all the way when I get a pick. I’m just very aggressive.

“I want to get bigger and stronger. I’m sure there’s a difference between being hit by someone who’s 180 pounds versus someone who’s over 200 pounds.”

  1. He’s always been high on their list. They just didn’t feel like they had a shot. Maybe that has changed. Wake does have 4 DB’s committed already.

  2. Kirk, how about that Sports Carolina Monthly cover with #42, #55 and #26 on the cover in Blue and White?

  3. not to speak for kirk,

but they are just three of the many outstanding players leading Ragsdale. There are any number of players they could have put on the cover to represent this great team. Of course these three are absolutely top notch. Sparks and Stone’s names get worn out every night by the PA announcer and Redfern’s kicks generate more excitement in the crowd and sidelines than any kickoffs I’ve ever seen.

It’s a nice photo. The photographer is one of my favorites.

  4. A great choice for both the school and player. Wake has an affinity for Dudley football players(circa) Ken”Butch’ Henry, the 1st black to play there and later Dave”Chip” Richmond. Great educational situation ,and not far for the hometown folks to go see ACC football. Go Deacs !

  5. Ragsdale does have many outstanding players but those three are leaders on and OFF the field. It’s more than just the games. It’s grades, training, workouts, community involvement, impact on other players. They set an example in the community.

  6. There are a lots of players deserving to be on the magazine cover. That’s why the team does well. There are no superstars on the team, no Rivals 5 star guys, no top D1 prospects. Just a bunch of good players that are well coached and love playing together. My son has never been a part of any group that more defined the word “Team”. There are many close friendships including but not limited to he and Billy. They’ve played together since they were 8. The same can be said for many of those boys. They’ve been together for a long time. I’m happy my son has been able to grow up with these boys and play for these coaches. He realizes how fortunate he is.
