Thoughts on Duke-N.C. State game with Blue Devil fan-man Bruce Mitchell

Duke whipped N.C. State this past Saturday aftenoon in Raleigh and I was able to share some conversation with former Durham resident and long-time Duke fan Bruce Mitchell here at the site earlier today.

Many of our readers may not have been privy to this info since it originated in one of our weekend posts, so I wanted to make sure you had the chance to drop-in and check out this very important discussion in question and answer form.

Parts of this break-down contain speculation and it is merely that, although we have been very poignant during most of our previous observations and if not on the money, then very eye-opening with our inside looks into the area college sports landscape.

Here’s the scene-setter on the game and then our conversation with Bruce Mitchell:

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -Thad Lewis threw for career-highs of 459 yards and five touchdowns in a dazzling one-man show to help Duke beat North Carolina State 49-28 on Saturday.

Hey Andy, How about those Duke Football Blue Devils!

I was listening back and forth between both radio broadcasts and I still don’t think State knows what hit them.

It was like an old fashioned shoot-out with Duke’s Ben Bennett and N.C. State’s Cam Montgomery and the Devils had the edge.

I was happy for Bob Harris and Wes Chesson. They do a great job on the radio and I’m not sure how much longer Bob will be around since ISP has taken over the broadcast rights from Johnny Moore Productions.

Duke still controls who will call their games, but I’m not sure if Bob Harris likes this new ISP(International Sports Properties) system. The Wes Chesson sound has not changed in 25 years. Very steady, along with Bob Harris, who is one of the all-time best in the radio business.

I would hate to see Bob leave, but I think the sand may be shifting.
