  1. Andy,
According to a ref on ncpreps.com Aaron Jones’ suspension should only be 1 game. Fighting is 2 games. Excessive celebration 1 game. Can somebody clarify this?

  2. That’s exactly what one of the area assistant HS coaches was telling me tonight and he had shared this with his staff and they were saying the same thing.

Coach Causey said this afternoon that they had appealed the ruling this week and appeal denied.

I don’t understand this one either.

  3. There is also a suspension and an ejection. There is a difference between the two but I don’t know the diiference other than one is a 2 game and one is for 1 game.

  4. Not sure of the exact situation, but the difference is between an “ejection” and a “disqualification.” For example, in basketball a coach/player receives two technical fouls, he/she is “disqualified” even if it’s not something they did wrong–i.e.–half time show running long, error in the score book, uniforms not uniform, etc. A disqualification is only the one game. An ejection occurs at the discretion of the officials which could be a result of concrete infractions–two “legit” tech fouls, etc–or for a single act–fighting, cursing, etc. In a situation like the aforementioned celebration penalty, it all depends on how the referee reported it to his booking agent. Did he report an “ejection” or a “disqualification;” appears if it was two games, he reported an ejection.

  5. There you go. You’re right Disqualified. I knew there was a difference but I did not know the details. Thanks for posting.
