He was Guilford’s third straight’s South Region Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors.

Sanborn garnered Second Team All-South District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Division III Basketball Sectional at John Carroll University. Sanborn starts his senior season ranked third among Guilford’s career blocks leaders (76) and 14th in career rebounds (668).

Henson, a 6-2, 170-pound guard, averaged 18.8 points and 2.5 assists per game as a junior. He ranked 37th in NCAA Division III with 3.0 three-pointers per game and scored at least 15 points in 23 contests. Henson landed first-team all-region honors from both and the NABC.

The First Team All-ODAC selection became the 28th Quaker to score over 1,000 career points and enters his senior season with 1,128 points, which stands 23rd on Guilford’s all-time scoring list. Henson set the school’s career three-pointers standard (189) in last year’s season finale versus Franklin & Marshall College.

Seventh-year head coach Tom Palombo’s club is ranked third in the Preseason Top-25 Poll and was tabbed second in The Sporting News’ preseason national rankings. Sanborn and Henson are two of three starters returning from last year’s club that finished third in the nation with a 26-6 overall mark. Guilford opens the 2009-10 season Nov. 17 versus visiting Methodist University at 7:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
