  1. Who votes on these polls any way. Northern is behind two teams, one whom they beat in the regular season and one with only 9 wins and a tie

  2. RALEIGH — This is the final Associated Press state high school football poll for the 2009 season in North Carolina, first-place votes in parentheses, records and total points as voted upon by a statewide panel of prep sports writers.

This is the customary attachment that goes with the poll for clarification purposes…..

  3. Good job by the Ragsdale Tigers this year. Polls mean nothing since the title is won or lost on the field but the ranking certainly does recognize the team has performed above even the lofty pre-season projections they had. I know there were people saying Ragsdale would be really good this year but there were many doubters too Of course now the fun really starts.

As to Northern’s ranking – I can understand Asheville getting ahead of them. 9-0-1 is unbeaten. But I have a hard time with Eastern Alamance still being ranked ahead. I know some of the posters around the state don’t pay attention every week but you would think by season’s end they would have been made aware that Northern beat them and was killing every other team they played since.
