Greensboro College defeats Otterbein, home today at 4pm versus Piedmont

Walter Brady (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs) made two free throws with five seconds left as Greensboro College defeated Otterbein, 59-58, at Hanes Gym on Saturday. Brady then blocked a shot by Brian Pollock to seal the win. GC is now 2-3 and OC fell to 0-3.

Brady had a game-high 9 rebounds to go along with 9 points. Pollock tallied a game-high 19 points for the Cardinals. Pernell Davis (Boynton Beach/Boynton Beach High School) led GC scorers with 13 points.

With the game tied at 57 Mark Louks put Otterbein ahead with a free throw with six seconds left. However, he then missed the second shot and Brady was fouled to set up his game-winning foul shots.

The Pride led at the half 34-24. The Cardinals came out hot in the second half. They outscored the home team 11-1 over the first 9:49 and tied the game with 11:05 remaining on a basket by Alan Kavanaugh (10 points).

GC won the battle of the boards 35-32. The Pride forced 23 turnovers and committed 15 miscues.

Brice Rausch chipped in with 12 points for OC. Nine of the 10 Pride players who saw action scored in the contest.

Otterbein plays Averett at Hanes Gym on Sunday at 2 p.m. GC hosts Piedmont at 4 p.m.
