Former Guilford College basketball player Hunter Yuracheck new AD at Coastal Carolina

Just saw this over at the News and Record site, www.news-record.com and it’s good to see Hunter Yuracheck get the shot at Coastal.

I remember back when he was playing basketball at Guilford College and he has spent some time in programs/classes with former Guilford classmate Mike Waddell since he left the Quaker campus.

Yuracheck and Waddell have traveled the sports trail and now Mr. Yuracheck checks in at Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina…..

Also at Coastal Carolina in the administrative area and possibly the assistant to the President is Eddie Dyer, a former Guilford College basketball great who played on the Jack Jensen teams back in the 70’s….

Here’s the word from the written word over at AP by way of N&R:

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Coastal Carolina has hired an athletics administrator from Akron to be the university’s new athletics director.

Coastal Carolina announced Monday that 41-year-old Hunter Yurachek will take over in January, when current AD Warren “Moose” Koegel moves into a fundraising role with the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation.

Yurachek spent the past two years as Akron’s executive senior associate athletics director, overseeing the school’s marketing, ticket and media relations operations.

Yurachek has also worked for Virginia, Western Carolina, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest since getting his bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and master’s degree from Richmond.

The other final candidate for the job was Lawson Holland, a development officer at Clemson.(Lawson is a former assistant football coach at Clemson, North Carolina and Wake Forest.)
