HS Football saw Reidsville get their title today in the NCHSAA Championships with the Rams’ 26-6 victory over Newton-Conover, but Eastern Alamance fell 28-21 to West Rowan. The Eastern Alamance Eagles were down 20-0 early and then came back and went up, 21-20, before falling in the end…The only other team to beat EA this year was Northern Guilford…(I listened to this game on AM920 radio.)

Mt. Airy was unbeaten at (15-0) going in, but came out at (15-1) after the Granite Bears were tripped up 38-37 in OT at the hands of Wallace-Rose Hill. Wallace-Rose Hill is the team that used to always lose to Thomasville in the 1-AA finals….

AC Reynolds of Asheville edged Harnett Central 14-13 to claim the 4-A title and that gave Asheville Reynolds wins of, 9-7 over Mt. Tabor, 9-8 over Greensboro Dudley and 14-13 over HC over the last three weeks of their championship run……(I listened to this game on the internet by of WWNC 570AM from Asheville.)

An amazing run for the Rockets from Asheville and the same can be said for the Reidsville Rams with something like four straight state football titles and nearly 18 overall and what about that Alamance County football, with Eastern Alamance in the final game this year and before them it was Western Alamance, Graham, Burlington Williams, Burlington Cummings and on they go…..
