HS hoops tonight for 12/14/09

Northeast Guilford at Grimsley
Boys and girls games should go off at 6 and 7:30 in this non-conference affair….Whirlie boys(4-2) coming off of a loss to Dudley and NEG Rams(4-3) enter with back-to-back wins coming over SWG and Eastern Guilford…..Girls game will be a toss-up. I can’t honestly predict how either one of these teams will play night in or night out or even quarter to quarter for that matter…..You still have to give the edge to both Grimsley teams on your way on to Westover Terrace…..

Krechaun Williams and Lee Sweeney will have to take over for the Grimsley boys and Cater Gourley will need to step up his offensive output, he’s been playing hard defense and looking to help out othewise, but they need his scoring and Burrell Brown will have to control this game from his point guard spot. He played very well in his matchup with Brennan Wyatt at Dudley and he will have to take over on both ends tonight with the offensive distribution and the defensive stops on the ball before NEG has a chance to set their offense as they like to take short looks at the basket through dribble drive penetration, pull-up left and pull-up right with action off of the glass…..

Also tonight we have:
Randleman at Southern Guilford…..
SG girls are (2-3) and they will play at 7:30 while the boys game will get under way at 6pm….Lindsay Inman strong for SG girls last time out, but Camille Horne needs to score in the neighborhood of 15-20 for this to be the game that will go in the Storm win column….Horne needs to get off to a good start and then let the rest of her game come to her and with solid defense she will have found the touch that will give her and her team a complete game…..She has the quick-release, she has the long-range shot, she needs to find the flow……

Boys:
Austen Thompson can lead this team, but with for Southern they will have to find a way to out-quick Ranleman, because the Storm does not have any players that measure up in the category of a weather tower. More speed and quickness than height and Eddie Odom can give them a boost if he is on his game when the ball goes up at 6pm……

  1. i agree. What is going on with carter? Is he hurt or what cause he was averaging 20 a game through the first four and he had 6 the last two games combined? He has to score more and i look for him to get out of this slump.
