Who will shine at the Shrine on Saturday????? Who’s star will shine the brightest in this NC/SC All-Star high school football game down in South Carolina?????
Here is your list if you would like to make a few choices……
Keenen Allen – Northern Guilford
Jonathan Spain – Page
Kasey Redfern – Ragsdale
David Amerson – Dudley
Major Bryant – Dudley
Quantre’ z Stephenson – HP Andrews
*****Maybe the kicker or the DB’s or the LB’s or the conversion to WR’s, who knows, but it will be a good game if the weather doesn’t interfere…..*****
+++++Keenan Allen is your automatic choice, but is there a sleeper in this group?????+++++
The 73rd Annual Verizon Wireless Shrine Bowl will be on Saturday December 19, 2009
Gibbs Stadium – Spartanburg, SC — Kick Off: 1 PM(Full details at www.shrine-bowl.com)
Keenan and Amerson
So far, hands down its Redfern.
39 yard FG, 2 PATs, 2 out of 3 punts land inside the 5 yardline, the other one a touch back.
Redfern just stuck the ball in at the 2 yardline. Huge punt!
3 out of 5 now inside the 5.
24-14 NC.
Keenan Allen with a 30 yard TD run out of the wildcat.
NC wins 24-14.
Redfern was the best player from Guilford County on this day.
Redfern had 3 incredible punts, 3 PATs, and a field goal but he also had a missed field goal and a punt shanked for almost negative yardage.
And the 2 touchbacks were straight downwind. he looked just like he did at ragsdale. Flashes of brilliance but needs to get more consistent. Has only been kicking about 2 years. Upside potential is huge. A redshirt year would do him some good.
Best athlete out there was Keenan Allen, from what I saw.
Guilford County coach shining in the Shrine Bowl too
Steven Davis with the NC “D”
Major Bryant from Dudley High School had 5 big tackles (second in team overall) and a fumble recovery that led to a NC score.
