  1. Great win for the Bengals over a solid opponent. Wakefield came in to the game 9-1 and ranked 12th in the state by maxpreps. GDS played good defense and led a balanced attack offensively. The box score tells the story nicely. Jacksonville HS is next then its off to the coliseum for the PHI. Should be fun. Everyone have a merry Christmas.

  2. GDS got off to a slow start but then cranked up their defense to beat a solid team. GDS played very well for 3 quarters. Lucas hit some jey 3’s

  3. GDS alum and Christ School employee here. CS just nipped Charlotte Christian by 3 at a tournament final in Columbia, SC. Looks like, judging from the GDS wins over ORMA and Wakefield, it is going to be a very competitive 3A private school season this year with several teams able to make a case for a strong showing come state tournament time.

  4. Missed the game but from what I heard is that GDS went away from their man to man D and had to play zone the entire game. Definitely not what they normally do. But win however you need to. Wakefield is always a very good team. A really good win for the Bengals.

  5. Greensboro Day was playing a lot of zone and it seemed to be very effective for them….

Robert Johnson may have picked up on some of this while at North Carolina….Freddy used to work many of those Duke camps back in the early days and he was deep into the man-to-man, but you have to adust to the times and Coach K from Duke is even playing zone at time these days…..
