Bishop exploded in the third quarter for 37 points on 13-13 FGs and 7-7FTs, and held East Surry to only 14 points which proved to be the difference in the game. East Surry’s diamond and one defense in the first half kept Bishop at bay as the Cardinals held a 6 point lead at the half. Bishop in the third quarter, led by Toomeys 14, had three pointers by Toomey, Banks, Rathburn, and 2 from Marrujo. Also in the third quarter Bishop’s defensive intensity picked up as the Villains forced seven Cardinal turnovers in the pivotal quarter. In the fourth quarter East Surry got no closer than twelve points.
