  1. Andy what ever happened to the seniors on Dudley’s team last year? I haven’t heard much about them and they were pretty good players…

  2. Trey Goddette on academic scholarship, (the teacher’s foundation grant) and he is at Winston-Salem State as a student only and loving it, I hear.

Brandon Pennix was due for Pembroke State at one point, but they may have turned into Rockingham Community College.

Chris Whitsett may have been the best athlete of them all and I haven’t heard a word on Chris’s whereabouts….

All good kids, each with different talents….

I’ll do some more checking on Pennix…..

  3. Interesting enough I found former Dudley player Marcus Heath at UNC-Pembroke…I think Skip McCall used to call him the glove or something like that….

    UNCP Roster:
    30 Marcus Heath G 6-3 185 So. Greensboro, NC/Dudley HS

  4. Thanx Andy my coworkers and I were wondering where they all ended up and to think if they had them with the maturation of Dudley’s team this year it would have been crazy.

  5. Justin Campbell, a 6-7 forward, former Greensboro Dudley player, transferred to GTCC from N.C. Wesleyan, and “he is ready to challenge for a starting spot,

I also noticed the other day that former Dudley guard Parrish Walker is at Roanoke College and playing/doing well and he scored in double-digits against Guilford back on Monday when Roanoke visited the Quakers….

    Still looking for Pennix…..

  6. I ran into Brandon Pinnix a couple of weeks ago and he is currently not enrolled in school. His gma passed and he is taking it hard.

  7. Man, did Berry light it up for Northern Guilford last night. No Frye and McBeth was there but didn’t do much. A big win , no matter what.
Another big year for the boys come March.

  8. What was the deal with Frye? How come he didn’t play?

Also saw that Jay Canty didn’t play for ORMA in their loss last night. Anyone know what the reason for his absence was?

  9. The word is that Barry Scoggins went to Mt. Zion in Durham…..Same school that produced Tracy McGrady at one time and one of the Smiths might have gone there too, either Tracy or Nolan….

  10. The second game of the Slamfest matched undefeated Phoebus of Hampton, ranked No. 5 in the AP poll, against Greensboro Dudley, one of the top teams in North Carolina. The Phoebus Phantoms won 84-76.

  11. Not surprised that Andy continues to show no coverage of ORMA. They play in the prestigious PrimeTime Shootout and not a word of coverage? ORMA gets more coverage on espn.com than they do around here.

  12. Maybe thats because the only people that care about ORMA are the people directly involved with ORMA. They are not like the other high schools around here and never will be, they don’t have a fanbase other than the parents that show up for games or a few NG defectors. IT may also be becuase their score wasn’t on news-record.com. So take your pick I guess.
