Ragsdale sweeps East Forsyth and the Tiger boys just barely pull it out of the fire

Thanks again Mike and here is the good news on the Ragsdale Tigers and their basketball victories this evening…

Girls:
Ragsdale 12 15 11 7 – 45
East Forsyth 6 10 7 4 – 27

Ragsdale led 8 – 5 after one and then extended the lead to 27 – 16 at halftime.

Lady Tigers were led in scoring by senior Lindsay Lee who had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Kaitlyn Harrison was also in double figures with 11. Ragsdale improves to 11 – 7 and 4 – 3 in the Piedmont Triad conference.

Boys:
Ragsdale 5 13 12 18 – 48
East Forsyth 8 12 8 19 – 47

In a tightly contested ballgame, Ragsdale found a way to come from behind in the final minutes to secure the win.

Neither team led by more than 5 points until East Forsyth took a 44 – 37 lead with 2:27 left. Ragsdale began fouling down the stretch and East only was able to convert on 3 of 8 from the charity stripe.

Tyquan Roberts pulled the Tigers to within 2 on a tip in off a missed shot with 0:50 left making it 47 – 45. After East missed their foul shot, Seth White got open in the corner and drained a trey to give Ragsdale the 48 – 47 lead with 25 seconds left. East got a shot off with 12 seconds left, but missed and Ragsdale held on for the win.

White led Ragsdale with 12 points and Tyquan Roberts chipped in with 10. Ragsdale moved into a tie with High Point Central for the Piedmont Triad Conference lead as they both have identical 5 – 2 records. Ragsdale is 8 -11 overall.
