Greensboro College golf pre-season #7 in the Nation/Methodist will be hard to beat….

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Greensboro College golf team has been picked to finish second in the upcoming USA South Conference season. The Pride, under first-year Head Coach Dirk Fennie, is seventh in the current national poll.

Methodist University was tabbed to win the USA South Athletic Conference 2010 golf title in the preseason coaches’ poll. Last spring, the Monarchs captured their seventh consecutive USA South Championship, their 27th title in program history.

Methodist received six of seven first-place votes (36 points) as head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting. The Pride finished second in the balloting with 30 points and the remaining first-place vote while Christopher Newport University placed third in the poll with 27 points. Averett University rounded out the top-four of the poll with 18 points.

The 2010 USA South Golf Tournament will be played on the par 72, 7004-yard, Mill Creek Golf Club in Mebane, North Carolina on April 16-18.
