HS hoops tonight

Dudley at Western Guilford(First time around at Dudley, no PJ Hairston for Panthers, but Dudley still was victorious and will Western fare better at home?)

Southeast Guilford at Page(Page has a new big man in Desmond Harrison and he has talent in the middle and he’s also the brother of Demone Harrison.)

Southern Alamance at Grimsley(Whirlies looking to put together a string of wins to close out the regular season, but no Lee Sweeney the rest of the way.)

High Point Central at Southwest Guilford(HPC girls face the team that gave them their first loss of the season and now they have two after falling at NWG last night and can the Cowgirls sweep the Bison ladies for the season?)

East Forsyth at Northwest Guilford(NWG boys and girls swept HPC last night and now they look to carry that momentum into tonight’s games with the Eagles…NWG boys at (5-5) in the conference and the girls are eyeing first place after last night’s win over HPC and it is very tight at top now with SWG, NWG and HPC girls….)

Ragsdale at Glenn(RHS boys are #1 in conference and they will face a tough foe in Kernersville this evening and Tyquan Roberts is the Tiger leader and I heard this week that Dickie Cline stepped down as Glenn’s football coach and this sounds like a case/mission for Mike Ellis, Jamestown News….)

Northern Guilford at Western Alamance(I spoke with Jonathan Frye on Sunday and the Nighthawks want to run the table this week, as all teams get set for the conference tournaments that get rolling next week.)

Northeast Guilford at Asheboro(Man-Rams are fighting for 1st place and the girls are currently in second, right behind Ledford.)

Eastern Guilford at McMichael(Both Wildcat teams are hungry for Conference Titles and the Lady ‘Cats will have no trouble in this game(I saw the two teams play at EG) and the men need to get off to fast start and not rely on the Butchie Huffman comeback clause that saved them at home vs. Mike.)

Southwestern Randolph at Southern Guilford(SG will need to put all of their cards on the table/floor in this one and both teams have very good chances to win and claim the sweep over the Cougars….)

High Point Andrews at WS Carver(HPA is in good shape as a 2-A member, but they face a pretty tough bunch in the Yellowjackets this evening…)

Westchester Country Day at High Point Christian(It was a 6-8 point game in favor of WCD the first time they met and that was without the HPCA Cougars’ Jordan Weethe in the lineup. He’s all in for HPCA tonight and you better clean off the backboards or Deuce Bello will charge you for his services after the game is over and he has wiped out a few shots on your glass.)

Mt. Zion at Oak Ridge Military Academy(Tracy McGrady/Orlando, Houston, NBA and Tracy Smith/N.C. State came out of Mt. Zion, but I believe they are both busy this evening, although Barry Scoggins, formerly of Dudley(2008/2009) and Northern Guilford(2009) is supposed to be with The Mount….ORMA just beat United Faith from Charlotte and Mt. Zion is next….)

Caldwell Academy at Calvary Baptist(There have been problems at Calvary and there have been very good games lately for Saunders, Carter, Page and Caldwell Academy.)

  1. Reggie Perkins will go for 30 tonight! He dropped like 25 at Dudley. He’s at home in the house that lil Perk built! Reggie drops 30+ tonight and Western will shut down that trader.

    Go Hornets!

  2. I know you are posting this from your smartphone at western–put it away, ’cause electronic devices are forbidden in school. obey the rules!!!!

  3. This might be a Jim Clontz alert. For WG AD, JC…

I’m sure Coach Clontz is checking his radar devices right now as we type.

  4. I hear Barry Scoggins is not eligible to play. Will be shocking if he plays tonight. Should be a good game

  5. Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham. Same school that produced Tracy McGrady and Tracy Smith….

  6. Barry left NG before the Pizza Hut tourney in late December/early January…..

Joe Daniel took over his inside spot for Northern and he has done a very good job on the inside working with John McBeth and Daniel Downing has also stepped up his inside game and has given the Nighthawks some valuable minutes….

  7. Looks like the game of the night in the Piedmont Triad 4-A Girls is HPC @ SWG. Based on their remaining schedules, if SWG wins they will more than likely wrap up the regular season conference title and NWG should finish 2nd, with HPC finishing 3rd. If HPC wins looks like it could end up in a three way tie for 1st. (SWG, NWG, HPC)

    HPC (7-2) @ SWG/@RAGS/vs PARKLAND
    SWG (6-1) vs HPC/@RAGS/vs PARKLAND/vs GLENN/@ EF
    NWG (8-2) vs EF/@ PARKLAND

  8. I am looking foward to see the three big men of Eastern (Radcliff, Gaddy, and Pressley) to pull something out tonight.

  9. Andy, you got anymore info on Page’s new big man? They move him up from the freshman or JV team? size?

  10. Desmond Harrison, Demone Harrison’s brother is a junior and he was out of the lineup earlier in the year due to grades and now he is available and he will give the Page Pirates a strong presence on the inside for the rest of this season and he’ll back next year too….

He reminds me of a player Grimsley had a few years ago named Genaro Lawhorne and he also shows some similarities to Grimsley’s current big man, Rashad Sweeney, although Desmond is bigger/heavier….

He can be a force and he comes in at a good time when John Spain has been out of the lineup at times with nagging injuries…..

  11. Looks like perkins should have never posted that 30 point comment on GreensboroSports.com—stay off that texting while you’re in the buildind!!!!! LMAO!!!!
