not sure of the final score…but Ragsdale won at Glenn tonight. Ragsdale is now 7-2 in conference with a 2 game lead over Central. Ragsdale has three games to play.

  • wondering said,

what was the score to the ORMA MT ZION game??

  • just making a comment said,

That Western Guilford / Dudley game OMG it was a good one….. now that was a basketball game. Western played there behinds off tonight that game could have went either way. Even though Dudley won I have to say hats off to Western Guilford. I always hear they are not a good team but they have keep there heads way above water thats why there still #2 in there conference. That smith game wasn’t a real game all I know is the starters didn’t play but maybe 15 min of the whole game I guess they were resting up for this one because they showed it tonight.

  • witness said,

good game to watch over there in hornet land…. western guilford played the best game of thier lives…… they came out hot and hyped….. dudley came out very sluggish and played sluggish for the first three quarters and found themselves down going into the fourth quarter…… seems like they woke up finally in the fourth…. brennen wyatt hit a big time three to give the panthers the lead…. both schools go-to- guys struggled big time tonight… reggie perkins couldnt get anything going at all tonight… pj hairston missed EVERY three pointer he took tonight… he really struggled finding his outside shot.. which was surprising since he made almost every three he shot in warm ups before the game and after halftime….. hairston stepped up in others areas… played well when he started posting up his smaller defenders…. also had some huge blocks against the hornets… sending a couple to the stands… that man can jump.. so can dj alston who also had some big time blocks for the panthers…..the refs were horrible in this games for both teams… never seen so many blown calls by refs…. too much inconsistency by them….great atmosphere or high school bball tonight

  • Geppetto said,

The kid with the braids from Western is definitely the best point guard on the team. Does anybody know why he doesn’t play more

  • WG Fan said,

Is name is neal spinks his brother nick spinks played there two years ago

  • Andy said,

I agree about the atmosphere for the game tonight at WG. It had the feeling of a conference, sectional or regional tournament final…..

  • ORMA said,

who won in the ORMA game??

  • panther nation said,

Reggie Perkins had a glove on him tonight (Reggie Dillard)! PJ couldn’t throw it in the ocean from 3 point land! When what you do best is not working, you must find other way’s to help your team. PJ did that tonight, Reggie Perkins did not. PJ even resorted to a little flopping! Hey, if that’s what It takes to help your team. So Be It.

  • Panther Fan said,

the one with braids is name skip or mike mcclese

  • panther nation said,

DIdn’t Skip (mike McClese) Play at NE Guilford Last year? Wasn’t he and reggie perkins middle school teammates? Just trying to connecet a few dot here…….

COACH LANSDALE TIME SHOULD BE UP NOW!!! THE EASTERN GUILFORD HEAD COACH MAY BE THE BIGGEST UPSET OF THE YEAR, ME BEING A WILDCAT FAN MAKES ME WONDER HOW CAN THIS BE? WE HAVE SOOOO MUCH TALENT! DAWKINS, HAIRSTON, RATCLIFFE, HUFFMAN, GUNN, TO NAME A FEW… OUR RECORD SHOULD BE WAY BETTER AND ITS ALL COACH’S FAULT, NOT FOULING LATE IN THE GAME. GETTING TECHS DOWN BY 7-10 POINTS LATE IN THE GAME, SITTING STARTING 5 IN 4TH QUARTER WHEN LOSING… PLEASE GUYS… HOW CAN I GET A PETITION STARTED???

Wow, what a good game at High Point Christian. Westchester won a very hard fought game against a good team. Mitch was really good but WCDS came from behind. Congratulations to the Wildcats, Ike, Duece, CJ, Cole, Josh and Coach Kahne. They are 22-1.

The rest of the season should be a lot of fun for all the teams and we will see some good hoops.

  • Wildcat Nation said,

    EG ALUM,

I was at the game last night and the only starter I saw sitting was the Huffman kid and he was having an off game. Do you expect a coach to leave a kid on the floor when he is having a bad night? I have been to almost every game this year and the Eastern team is young. Most of those kids were JV kids last year. The only two I remember being varsity players last year were Radcliff and Hairston. They have won 13 games this year with what? two returning players? maybe three? what do you expect?

You sound like a disgruntled parent. Maybe you should take your issues up with the coach instead of trying to air them out on a message board. It would make you look like less of a coward if you did.

  • mike said,

ORMA won, dont know the score.

  • Proud Wildcat said,

I agree with Wildcat Nation. Dawkins, Gunn and Huffman all played JV last year. Gunn is just coming back from two sprained ankles and is not 100% and was asked to carry the load last night when Huffman was obviously having a bad night. He would get in trouble or lose the ball and then try to do too much on his own instead of working with his team. His main problem is he has his brother sitting on the sideline telling him what to do and sometimes his Dad. If he would learn to listen to his coach instead of brother and Daddy, he may learn that there is no “me” in “team”. Of course, the same could be said for a couple of more on the team as well…I have seen the same out of one or two others when the chips get down too. This is a young team that is still learning. Mommies and Daddies need to stop coaching from the stands and let the coaches on the bench do their jobs. It’s not as easy as it looks…if you don’t believe me…try it sometime.

  • wcds said,

it’s funny how rcristal only named 5 of the westchester players…i guess those four or five guys that never get off the bench aren’t actually part of the team

  • dale fulton said,

Got to see the MZ-OR game last night and wondering why Canty did not play. The OR layers showed quite a bit of hustle to come back in the 4th quarter—got to give them credit!!!! One thing’s for sure, though, their coaching staff is not anywhere near the GDS staff no matter what anyone says. The chunky white haired coach ( coach “K’s” college coach people tell me ) was all in “K’s” ear and up and down with all the coaching “strut” on, but when they were down and struggling, he just sat there—you never see that from our staff—everyone is in the game at all times—LOL!!!!!

  • EG ALUM 82 said,

WOW. SOUNDS LIKE POLITICS IN THE AIR… SOUNDS LIKE PROUD WILDCAT AND WILDCAT NATION ARE JUST AS LOST AS COACH LANSDALE. THEIR PROBABLY PTA PARENTS SUBURBIA. HA. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A ME IN TEAM OR AN I FOR THAT MATTER. AND HUFFMAN KNOWS THAT. HENCE THE MOST ASSISTS ON THE TEAM. SO THAT ARGUMENT DONT MAKE SENSE. THE FLOOR LEADER HAS TO PLAY ATLEAST SOME OF THE 4TH.

HOW WOULD YOU RATE HUFFMAN’S GAME LAST NIGHT. WAS HE LEADING

  • NG FAN said,

Our Kinighthawks girls rocked and rolled! One of the Big Three Molly nailed 15 points! GO HAWKS!

We rolled on Western Guilford girls. The conference title is ours! NEXT! Page we are waiting for you on Friday!

  • EG Wildcat Fan said,

I was at the game last night as well and I have seen most of the games this year. I have seen the Huffman kid play several very good games. He is a good player. His game was off last night. EG ALUM what do you think that team needs from Huffman? What do you think the coaching staff should expect from him?

  • EG ALUM 82 said,

EG FAN HE DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO. IVE KNOWN THIS KID FOR A FEW YEARS. HES GOOD FRIENDS WITH MY SON. HE IS DEF MISTREATED BUT HECK THE COACH TAKES ALOT AWAY FROM THE WHOLE TEAM WITH HIS RASH DECISIONS. EVEN HIS ASSISTANTS DONT EVEN AGREE WITH HIM. BUT IM SURE YOU DO. YOU PROBABLY LIKE LOSING I GUESS. WHY LATE GAME TECHS? why no late game fouls when down by 5 plus? WHY DOWN BY 6 SIT YOUR FLOOR LEADER WHOLE 4TH N GO DOWN BY 13… IM DONE. ITS JUST SAD AND UNFORTUNATE FOR KIDS TRYING TO GOTO COLLEGE

  • EG ALUM 82 said,

that was to the first eg fan and to you eg wildcat fan the huffman kid is a natural scorer and an awesome distributor. the coach seems to wanna be a superhero n discipline only him? i think coach shouldnt pull him when he shoots and he does so hes got that kids head all messed up. when really huffman saved them in a couple games this year by driving to the basket hard late in the games and getting to the line and hitting 3s. Im not saying he should be primary scorer just treated fairly. its just weird. like theres a hidden beef or something

  • EG Wildcat Fan said,

    EG ALUM

like someone said earlier. If you have an issue with the coach or his staff why not just meet with them instead of trying to air it out on a message board? I’m sure they have answers for you.

  • rcristal said,

    WCDS,

Really terrible mistake on my part. I hope you and others accept a sincere apology.

  • Not so said,

    Dudley Momma,

Yall certainly did not roll over WG. You almost took a L. Yall should have crushed WG.
I do not understand why your team does no trapping. There is only 1 girl on that team that can “handle” the ball. When she was sitting yall girls with those long arms should have been all over those girls trying to bring the ball up the court. Even if only a 1/2 court trap. You can’t trap a team with great ball handlers but you have to put away those that don’t have them. Put pressure on a ball handler ‘that is not a good ball handler”to make decisions under duress.

Just don’t get it. Anyway Good Luck in post Season.

  • Observer said,

First, Huffman can be a good point guard for EG. Notice that the statement was directed as “point guard”. The games that I have watched EG be successful in are the games that Huffman (EG point guard) has played as such and not tried to be said “natural scorer”. Butch Huffman is not a natural scorer yet and may not develop into that, however, he can be a GREAT point guard hence said assist leader on team. He, as of right now, does not have a great jump shot and not a real threat from the outside. Again, he is the best ball handler and penetrator on the team which in turn opens things up for natural scorers such as Hairston and Dawkins. These statements are reoccuring themes on this ball club. There is no consistency in “team” and sacrficing “I” for team yet. Huffman can be the catalyst that makes this team successful but needs to be a floor leader and not a scorer. The games where he has produced points have been games that he has distributed the basketball enough that lanes and pull up jump shots have been opened up for him and not forced. Whenever a point guard can drive the basketball like huffman, they usually do get to the foul line hints games of 12, 14, or maybe 16 points scored. Play as a team EG the community wants the unselfish team back that started the season 5-0 6-0. That team was good this team is not!

  • EG Wildcat Fan said,

Huffman has played well the last few games I saw and the team looked good. Last night was not the case. Surely there is a correlation.

  • hs fan said,

its not like its hard to pack westerns gym. that gym is a piece of crap. it is like a middle school gym for a 4-a team?

  • JUST MAKING A COMMENT said,

What does WG gym have to do with WG basketball team hick it could be the size of a daycare and their still a good team. I don’t see them playing in a big gym and looking SLUGGISH. Big gym ……. Little gym….. their boys are still good. (wow the gym is small WHO CARES!!!!)

  • hs fan said,

I made the comment cause someone said the comment that it was like regional finals atmosphere, and my point is its not hard to pack that gym. i said nothing about there TEAM
