RHS Tigers double-team and take two from Glenn: Tiger boys hold the first-place card

Girls:
Ragsdale 7 12 4 19 – 42
Glenn 0 12 7 19 – 38

Ragsdale pitched a shutout in the opening quarter, taking a 7 – 0 lead and never trailed in defeating Glenn. The Lady Bobcats tied the game at 19 in the third quarter by scoring the first 7 points of the third and after trailing 23 – 19 entering the final eight minutes, got within one several times, but could never
quite get over the hump. Ragsdale went to the foul line 16 times in the final quarter and were able to convert 10 of them including 5 of 5 from Courtney Marsh to escape with the 42 – 38 win.

Marsh led the Lady Tigers with 11 points and was the only Ragsdale player in double figures. Eronica Berry had 7 and Ciara Jackson added 6. Deonna Young scored half of her team’s points with 19 for Glenn.

Ragsdale improved to 12 – 8 overall and 5 – 4 in the Piedmont Triad and remain in fourth place in the conference standings, while Glenn falls to 5 – 15 and 1 – 9.

Boys:
Ragsdale 8 20 16 16 – 60
Glenn 11 11 14 17 – 53

Ragsdale trailed 11 – 8 after the opening quarter then aided by 13 second quarter points for Tyquan Roberts including 7 in the last 50 seconds, went into the half
with a 28 – 22 lead. Glenn back to within one in the third quarter but then saw Ragsdale extend the lead back to eight at 44 – 36 heading to the fourth. Glenn
began forcing the ball inside and either getting fouled or getting layups and took the lead for the first time since 2 minutes left in the first half at 53 – 52 with 1:39 remaining. Ragsdale’s Kalik Parker then hit a huge three to put Ragsdale back up by 2 with 1:17 left and then repeated the long range bucket with 24 seconds left to seal the victory. Glenn went scoreless over the last 1:39 while Parker scored Ragsdale’s last 8 points over that same time span to secure the 60 – 53 victory.

Parker led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, 13 of them coming in the fourth quarter. Point guard Benaiah Wise had a big third quarter with 9 points and ended
up with 14 for the night. Tyquan Roberts was also in double figures with 13.

Ragsdale moves to 10 – 11 overall and to 7 – 2 in the Piedmont Triad. The Tigers strengthen their hold on first place over High Point Central who is 6 – 4 and
Southwest Guilford who is 5 – 5. Ragsdale faces Southwest Guilford at home on Wednesday and HP Central at home on Friday.

For Glenn, Tyler Lee had 14 points and Lamaurice Williams had 13 as the Bobcats fell to 11 – 11 and 4 – 6.
