  1. Nice crowd @ Northern last night. Frye had a great game, and it is nice to see him capping off a nice career in fine fashion. based on what I see, there will not be a run in the playoffs like they had last year. I would show them a box and 1 or even a triangle and 2 and watch them wilt. Berry cannot beat you alone, and probably would fold if he had that pressure. that has to be thw weakest conference in 3A in the whole state. My prediction is a loss in the second round of the playoffs—until then, there is no oe that can come close to beating them in their conference.
On another note, come on over to the “Big House” to see some real basketball tonight when Christ School and their nationally ranked Greenies come to play GDS—-big potential for an upset and retribution for the two losses in the state finals.

  2. Did you see that shot by Jessica Johnson at the buzzer at the half? A three-pointer past half-court???Amazing..

  4. Dale,
Since GDS and Northern split this year, that means that GDS won’t have a long run in the playoffs either.

  5. Dale,
Wow you are a real downer. NG boys are doing amazingly well and are a great group of kids and have some real talent. NG has been put through the ringer and still come out on top. We don’t get to pick the teams we play and we don’t pick the weakness or strength of the conference. We just do the best with what we get. And even you have to admit WE’VE DONE PRETTY D##N GOOD!!!!!!

  6. I will def give Coach Freeman and the NG boys their props!! They have had a great year regardless of the run they make in the playoffs. And GDS will have a tough road ahead of them as well. Hearing that they may be without leading scorer Dorsett tonight and their PG Pulliam has missed school the last 2-3 days. WIll be hard to get a W without those two. I am sure Pulliam is gonna play though. As far as their run in playoffs, they will prob be a 5 seed. Have to win a first round game a week from Tuesday and then face Forsyth on Thursday who has beaten them twice already. If they beat them, then they have to beat Christ School in the semis. That may be as far as their run takes them.

  7. Opinions are like a–holes everyone has one.

True – but some always stink a lot more than others…

  8. Hey Dale…since GDS LOST to Northern, what does that say about your private school all-star team, GDS?

Did they lose because they were less talented? because they were outcoached? what is your excuse today? Does that mean GDS wouldn’t win Northern’s conference? The ‘worst’ in 3A?

you say some of the dumbest things posted on this board. Surely your ‘private school education’ has given you better preparation than that?

  9. @ NW fan, I agree with your statements about Vontreece. Wth only 2yr varsity experience, and 1 yr of competitive AAu, I must say she has developed like no other. She hasnt even reached half of her potential and as she develops in college, she will be unstoppable.

The shot by Jessica Johnson was AMAZING!! And the thing is she didnt get a running start. She caught it behind the half court line and released. She averages one every year. Last year she did the same with a last second shot to win against NE and over the summer during a game to send the game into overtime. Phenomenal player. Those type of shots come from playing horseshoe. She had a few and 1’s last night too. Kelly got her stroke on as well. Hitting 3-pointers all nite. All of the seniors stepped up last night and it was a joy to watch.

    And lastly to Dale
I have never seen such wishful negativity towards the kids success until you came along. I thought the tirade from last year was over. Just take the L we gave yall, and we will take the one yall gave us. Both teams shouldnt be compared as GDS was “put together” by recruiting and NG finally have only attendance zone students. Both are great in their own aspects. But neither will see each other in the playoffs, from what I hear GDS doesnt make far in the playoffs year to year. So why dont you worry about your own backyard before trying to mow someone else’s.
