“We were excited to get two wins against quality opponents today,” said U of L head coach Sandy Pearsall. “I was looking forward to seeing how our freshmen would perform and they did not disappoint. Our veterans came through at crucial times as well. If this team keeps growing, expect good things from them.”

The game against Baylor featured a pitchers’ duel through four and an half scoreless innings before Baylor’s Nicole Wesley broke up Louisville starter Chelsea Leonard’s no-hitter with a sharp single back to the pitcher. Wesley stole second, took third on a wild pitch and scored on KJ Freeland’s sacrifice bunt to give the Lady Bears a 1-0 lead.
