  1. Northern Guilfrod has gotten a pretty good baseball team. THey have prob 4 Division 1 players on there roster, Danny Casciano, George Carter, DC Arendas, and Tripp Dunn. There pitching is pretty good with Carter, Hardin, Maas, Burchette. Also Bradley Burchette is a great baseball player who can hit and is about as a consistant as anyone in Guilford County. Do you really think Northern Guilford is the 6th best team in Greensboro, I know they are having some major changes over there this year but i just wondered, i just think this team is going to be a scare in Guilford County.

  2. Andy,

Is Mekita going to be the #1 pitcher at NW this year ?

Several great players on the list, some average players on the list.

Who is your source for this list ?

  3. Mekita is actually going to school at Southwest Guilford but he is not eligible to play baseball this spring

  4. Northeast will be much better than forecasted, they have 3-4 players better than the stretch job you did with Grimsley.

Again you mention Mekita, do your homework. He hasn’t been at NW for a while, not playing anywhere.

Cory Williamson is one of Dudley’s best players, take notice.

  5. Keep sending us names that you think we should add or delete….

Give some more of those NEG names…Is there a Johnson kid out there that could make the list?????

Mekita played with with the Northwest Flying Squirrels last summer and he was one of the top players for the Vikings last season…..It is a shame that he is gone…You would like to see those kids finish up together and at least see him playing baseball for some high school this spring….

We will remove him from our list and we will definitely miss him this season at NWG….

Baseball people don’t talk as much as football and basketball people so maybe that is why we didn’t hear about this back in the fall…..

  6. How is it that certain “daddy coaches” and their son(s) can live in one district–not be employed by Guilford County and be the baseball player/coach at another school?

  7. Evan Aguilar at HP Central

May be the best natural athlete in Guilford County.

Sam Smotherman, 6′-5″ Righty with tons of upside on the mound.

Just a couple of names that some have never heard of because they never entered the “G’boro Baseball Loop”.

Many more out there just like em.

  8. I know they will be young, but watch the group from EG. The core of sophmores have been playing together for a long time and are a solid bunch of guys who know how to win. They will have some good developing leadership with Adam Gunn, John Robertson, Hayden Holliman, Tyler Hunt, and David and Adam Doyle. Watch these kids…they will be a force by their senior year as long as they keep their heads on straight and their wits about them.

  9. I LOVE TO SEE THIS LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TALK. THANKS FOR EVERYONES IMPUT. FOR MOST OF US THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN LEARN ABOUT OTHER PLAYERS AND TEAMS. INSTEAD OF BEING SO HARSH WHEN SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING WRONG, JUST CORRECT THEM.
I AM INTERESTED IN MEKITA. WHY HAS HE MOVED TO SOUTHWEST?
BACKWOODS, I LIKE YOUR GUYS BUT YOU HAVE TO PROVE YOURSELF WORTHY BEFORE MAKING THE LIST. HOPE THEY SHINE THIS YEAR.
EAST FORSYTH IS IN OUR CONFERENCE AND ALWAYS STRONG, IF YOU ARE FROM THAT SCHOOL/AREA ,LET’S US KNOW ABOUT YOUR GUYS.

  10. I think yall forgot about one player. Daniel Doss @ Southern Guilford hit over .600 last year the North State 2A Conference and was one of the best players in the conference with the state champion Mcmichael in it. Just Sayin.

  11. bbfan,

Who decides who is worthy for this list ? The kids I listed deserve to be there as much as some on there.

Is the list based on straight stats? Stats can be fudged quite a bit in some cases.

Andy, are you the great one that must DEEM a player worthy, or is it done by committee?

  12. The lists that I have put up on this site have gone over pretty good over the past few years and for credentials, I have followed some of the kids on this current list since they were in 8th grade and most of them since they were in the 9th grade…

The readers do like lists and like I said, I see as many local HS and amateur games as anybody around here over the course of a baseball season….

If I haven’t heard about a kid, then someone is not doing a good job of getting the word out about that kid and he could probably use our help here at the site…

The parents and fans appreciate the coverage and they know I will be out there in full force at the games…..

Contact me with more names and more info any time at:

  13. Andy there is no one in this town that can be in as many places at one time than you.
You do not have to explain how or why you know what you are doing.
I personally know how much baseball you watch and how good you are for our kids.
    Keep doing what you do.

  14. David Beasley is the coach at Southeast Guilford and he will probably hold down that spot for couple of years and then pass the torch on to Charlie Gambill Jr., the coach of the future and now an assistant at SEG.
