Double-shot power as Ragsdale takes two from East Forsyth last night in Jamestown

A big double-win for the Ragsdale Tigers as they finally close out the regular season at home last night…..The tournaments get under way tonight.

From Tuesday night in Jamestown courtesy of Mike Ellis sports anchor for the Jamestown News……

Girls:

East Forsyth 9 8 17 6 – 40
Ragsdale 7 12 8 18 – 45

After leading at the half 19 – 17, the Lady Tigers fell behind in the third quarter,
trailing by as many as 7 which was the margin heading to the fourth, 34 – 27.
They continued to trail in the fourth but cut the margin to two after back to back
baskets by Courtney Marsh and Ally Darnell, both coming after steals on the press.
Darnell then hit a three with 55 seconds left to give Ragsdale a 41 – 40 lead and
they hit 4 of 6 foul shots down the stretch to secure the 45 – 40 victory.

Ragsdale was led by Kaitlyn Harrison with 14 points and Ciara Jackson with 9.
Sophomore Ally Darnell had her season high, also with 9, six of them coming in the
final 1:19. Ragsdale wraps up 4th place in the Piedmont Triad and will face
Southwest Guilford tomorrow night in the Conference Tournament at Northwest
Guilford. Ragsdale ends up 6 – 6 in Conference and 13 – 10 overall.

Boys:

East Forsyth 13 8 8 23 – 52
Ragsdale 19 21 12 14 – 66

Ragsdale scored the games first 4 points and never trailed in the contest. East
Forsyth, coming into the contest after last night’s 82 – 74 overtime win against SW
Guilford, seemed flat and a little tired, while Ragsdale played one of their best
halves of the season in rolling out to a 40 – 21 halftime lead. With the Piedmont
Triad Conference regular season title at stake, the Tigers came out and played
inspired basketball to wrap up the undisputed Conference Crown. Ragsdale continued
to expand the lead in the third quarter before emptying the bench for most of the
fourth.

Ragsdale was led in scoring by juniors Benaiah Wise and Jaxon Randolph who both
scored 13 points. Senior Devante Fletcher had 9 and junior Tyquan Roberts had 8 as
Ragsdale improved to 9 – 3 in the Conference and 12 – 12 overall. Ragsdale will now
have a day off before facing #4 seed Southwest Guilford on Thursday night at
Northwest Guilford.
