River Mill runs slow early, but rolls on with ease in the second half over South Granville

The River Mill girls basketball overcame a lethargic first half performance, to defeat South Granville 57-28 in the Semi-Finals of the Carolina 9 2-A/1-A Conference Tournament.

The #1 seeded Lady Jaguars held a slim 19-18 lead at the half, before outscoring #4 seeded Vilings 36-10 in the second half.

McKenzie Owen led four players scored in double figures for the Jags with 13, and River Mill coach Hamilton Perkins earned his 325th career victory.

River Mill will face the Northwood/Granville Central winner for the tournament title on Friday evening, at Pittsboro Northwood.
