Greensboro College hauls in another baseball win at WMS on Sunday

Greensboro, NC — Grant Kelley (Newport, NC/West Cartret High School) went 3-5 with a home run and a double to lead Greensboro College to a 12-8 win over visiting Neumann College at War Memorial Stadium on Sunday. Freshman starter Taylor MacDonald (Pinebluff, NC/Pinecrest High School) earned the win for The Pride (3-4).

Kelley scored twice and knocked into two GC runners. He also pitched one inning of relief. MacDonald hurled 5 innings, allowed one unearned run and just three hits.

Matt Irwin (Asburn, VA/Stone Bridge), Logan Beasley (Liberty, NC/Eastern Randolph High School) and Tyler O’Neill (Columbia, Md/Oakland Mills) all had two hits for The Pride.

GC led 8-5 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning. The Pride plated five more runs to put the game out of reach. Reliever Trevor Marbry (Chapell Hill, NC/Chapel Hill ) tossed a perfect ninth inning.

Mathieu Valieres and Kevin Flanigan each collected 3 hits for Neumann (0-3).

The Pride hosts Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
