Eastern Guilford girls over Western Harnett 66-57 from Monday evening

Eastern Guilford won their first round game against Western Harnett 66-57, whom was
ranked number four in the State back in January. Western Harnett came into
Gibsonville led by potential All State and McDonald’s All American Candidate Ariel
Bursey whom is the sister of University of North Carolina basketball player Trinity
Bursey. Bursey did not dissapoint by scoring 32 points, but it was not enough as
Eastern used a balanced attack with four players in double figures. Miranda Jenkins
scored 21 points, Capricia Smalls 16, sophomore Karima Jackson came off the bench to
score a career high of 13 points and Amerijah Jamison finished with 10 points to
complete a double double with 10 rebounds. Kristin Crosby also finished with 10
rebounds. Eastern must now face another tough opponent in Overhills whom has a 21-5
record.

  1. I was at the game on Monday at that Ariel Bursey is the real deal!! She has a D1 future ahead of her, but the Lady Cats let her get her points while shutting the rest of her team down! Great team effort by the Lady Cats after the 2-18 shooting start to begin the game!!! Lets keep it up vs Overhills tomorrow @ home!!!
