Good win by Northwest over Mt Tabor 8-2 last night in their home opener. Ben Saunders pitched very well over 6 innings giving up no runs, a couple of hits, and many K’s. The Northwest team hit very well with 6 or 7 extra base hits in starting 7 seniors. Defense was very strong. The win was sweet due to Mt Tabor knocking out Northwest in the third round of the state playoffs last year when Northwest finished with a 21-4 record. Sonny Gann and staff have another very talented team for 2010 heading into what may be the toughest 4A conference in the state for baseball.
