Greensboro College Baseball drops wild one at Lynchburg

Lynchburg, Va. — The Greensboro College baseball team lost at Lynchburg College, 14-12, on Wednesday. Ryan Summerford (Southern Pines, NC/Pinecrest High School) and Tyler O’Neill (Columbia, Md/Oakland Mills) had big days at the plate for The Pride in the defeat.

Summerford went 2-5 with a double, one run and 3 RBI. O’Neill was 2-3 with a solo home run. GC (4-9) outhit LC 14-11. The Pride committed no errors to the Hornets five miscues.

Lynchburg, however, plated eight runs in the sixth inning en route to the win. GC starter Spike Upchurch (White Cross, NC/Cedar Ridge) hurled 5 1/3 innings and took the loss. Six Pride pitchers took the mound in the game.

Catcher Chris Colquhoun went 2-3 with a double and 5 RBI for Lynchburg (8-3).
