*****In the Ragsdale win over SWG, Ragsdale jumped in front early on a two-run home run by pitcher Billy Stone in the bottom of the second inning.

Southwest countered with a two-run homer by the Cowboys’ Andrew Madden to knot the score back up at 2-2 in the top of the third and the game stayed that way until Ben Fultz came through with an RBI double scoring Walt Spaks with what proved to be the game winner as Ragsdale claims the victory, 3-2 over SWG….

Billy Stone got the start for Ragsdale and pitched very well and he picked up the victory, and a solid effort was also turned in by SWG’s starter, freshman (LHP) Matt Orth….

Ragsdale now (5-0) overall and (3-0) in the Conference.
SWG now (4-1) overall and (2-1) in the Conference.

Southeast Guilford was paced by Austin Bain’s grand slam home run(Bain 5 RBI’s) in the Falcons 18-2 win over Smith. Tanner Hodgin(4 RBI’s) also homered for the Falcons….The starting pitcher for SEG was Tyler Faggart(WP) and he got relief help from Leon Smith…..Also for SEG they had Shutt going 2-3, Keene 2-2 and Kirkpatrick was 1-1 with 3 stolen bases….

Southeast is now (5-1) overall and (3-0) in the Metro 4-A Conference….

Northwest Guilford improved to (2-5) overall and (1-2) in the Conference with their 12-2 win over HP Central…. HPC was led by Weston Wilson’s 2 RBI’s and we willl have NWG numbers later tonight….

In Dudley’s 15-7 win over Grimsley we have the following numbers on the Panthers-Whirlies contest:
Dudley opened the game with a 5 run 1st inninng and never trailed in this Metro 4A matchup.Grimsley closed to 10-7 in the bottom of 5th but Dudley added 5 runs in the 7th to put the win in the books. 11 of 12 Panthers who batted recorded at least 1 hit. Panthers and Page Pirates Wednesday @ Page.

For NEG in their win over Asheboro the Rams improve to (4-0) and they along with Ragsdale are the county’s only remaining unbeaten teams….Luis Paula got the win and the McCann brothers, Jacob and Caleb, had strong days at the plate for NEG, as did Johnny Brown.

For Vandalia in their victory over Gospel Light, the Vikings were paced by Nick Taylor with his 3-5 afternoon that included a HR, Jon Bethea went 4-4 with 3 doubles and Todd Haley was 2-5 with a home run…..AJ Williams was the winning pitcher for VCS.

  2. Wow I was amassed at the 7 errors that I saw Grimsley make heard a parent say that was 15 in two games. But don’t take anything away from Dudley they hit the ball HARD!!!!

  3. Coach George O is working with the Kiser kids on many of these same things and he is trying to get the baseball fundamentals across to the kids at a younger age.

    Coach George can turn things around or he will die trying…..
