Michael Manfro tosses No-No and Jacob Cadle gets first college win as Greensboro College sweeps Arcadia

Greensboro, NC — Junior Michael Manfro (Fauquier, VA/Notre Dame Academy) tossed a no-hitter as Greensboro College defeated Arcadia, 9-0, to sweep the Hawks. Manfro struck out 11 and walked one batter.

Manfro is the third Pride pitcher to not allow a hit in a complete game. Ryan Waechli (1998) and Jeremy Foster (2003) also hurled seven-innings no hitters for Greensboro College.

Josh Montague(NWG) went 3-5 with a triple to lead GC hitters.

In game one, The Pride baseball snapped a seven game winless streak with a 10-6 victory against Arcadia on Tuesday night. The Pride had 14 hits in the game. Michael Parker (Snow Camp, NC/Southern Alamance) went 3-4, with two doubles and three RBI.

Tyler O’Neill (Columbia, Md/Oakland Mills) went 3-4 and scored two runs. Jeff Guerrie (Lewisville, NC/West Forsyth) was 2-4 with a home run and three RBI. His bomb came in the second inning when The Pride plated seven runs. Matt Irwin (Asburn, VA/Stone Bridge) and Grant Kelley (Newport, NC/West Carteret High School) also had two hits for the home team.

Freshman starer Jacob Cadle (Denton, NC/Westchester County Day School) got his first college win. He threw four innings, allowed five runs, five hits and fanned four Knights. Relievers Trevor Marbry (Chapell Hill, NC/Chapel Hill ) and Jimmy Pemberton (South Bound Brook, NJ/Bound Brook) finished the game for GC. Marbry thew two frames and allowed one run. Pemberton allowed no hits and no runs in the final seventh inning.

David Kutteroff collected two singles for Arcadia.

After the DH, GC is 5-13 and Arcadia is 1-7.
