Nighthawks Softball: They walk the walk and let their record speak

Northern Guilford 12
Rockingham County 1

(NG now at (7-1) to start the season.)

Excellent pitching from Heather Baker propelled the Lady Nighthawks from Northen Guilford past Rockingham County 12 to 1 on a conference matchup.

Hot bats and great defense shut down Rockingham, who in the past has been an fierce competitor in the 3 A Conference.

Lexi Vanada had her first ever home run in a varsity game, uncorking one over the
left field fence. Northern Guilford travels to Morehead Friday night at 7 pm in a
conference match up.

  1. Andy,

I think this headline is a little to much!! Yes after our wakeup call from Southern Guilford we’ve been playing some good ball, but we don’t talk the talk!! Coach Erica
    would not allow that!!

  2. You may be correct, sometimes I go a bit overboard and try and out-do myself with the headlines….Good luck to the team and that (7-1) shows that they are getting the job done….

    A little less over-the-top….

  3. Yes , Southern won, but our All State pitcher was out that game. Not taking anything away from Southern, but ladies softball is all about pitching. We still scored 5 runs to their 8 in a come back toward the end of the game. Southern has a very good team and I wish them the best. We do meet again this season and it should be a good game.
