Excellent pitching from Heather Baker propelled the Lady Nighthawks from Northen Guilford past Rockingham County 12 to 1 on a conference matchup.
Hot bats and great defense shut down Rockingham, who in the past has been an fierce competitor in the 3 A Conference.
Lexi Vanada had her first ever home run in a varsity game, uncorking one over the
left field fence. Northern Guilford travels to Morehead Friday night at 7 pm in a
conference match up.

You may be correct, sometimes I go a bit overboard and try and out-do myself with the headlines….Good luck to the team and that (7-1) shows that they are getting the job done….

Yes , Southern won, but our All State pitcher was out that game. Not taking anything away from Southern, but ladies softball is all about pitching. We still scored 5 runs to their 8 in a come back toward the end of the game. Southern has a very good team and I wish them the best. We do meet again this season and it should be a good game.
