Southeast Guilford vs. Western Guilford in the semifinals of the Graham Boosters Baseball Tournament in Graham, N.C. at the Graham Middle School….4pm

*****Could we see Casey Jones on the hill for the Hornets and possibly Adam Kirkpatrick or Ty Powell for SEG or even Nin Marrero for WG versus Dylan Shutt for SEG?????*****(Mark Leake threw for WG back on Saturday and Tyler Faggart tossed a no-hitter for SEG on Saturday…..)

The finals would be on Tuesday and Western still has matchup with Southwest Guilford set for Wednesday at WG……

  1. Surprising they are still playing games in a spring break tourney when they have conference games this week. Surprised this event was not wrapped up last week.

  2. I think they have been doing it this way down in Graham for many years…Always something about the Easter Monday week, being the holiday week in Graham and the week after Easter Sunday being the draw for the finish…

I remember doing the finals on radio one year on the Monday after Easter, when Duke was playing Arkansas for the NCAA Title and they were down in Charlotte at the old Charlotte Coliseum that just got torn down a while ago….

Easter Week is still the week after Easter in Alamance County and some businesses in Graham still close down at noon on Wednesdays like they have for many, many years….

  3. Western will play Southwest next week on Wed. 4/14 and will play Dudley this Friday at home. Remember WBAG 1150 is supposed to have the tourney on too.

  4. High Point Enterprise had the WG-SWG game slated for this week….Good call 77 Hornet…..HPE is running one week ahead of time and Steve Hanf and his staff have been known to run out and try and get a jump on the competition before the game/week is half over…….

  5. Southeast 3
    Western Guilford 2

Ty Powell (SE) went 5 innings, giving up 2 home runs before Josh Tobias came on to record the save. Tobias also started the scoring with a shot in the bottom of the first to make it a 1 to nothing game. Southeast added 2 more before Nin Marerro, who pitched for Western, hit back to back home runs with Macon Smith to make it a 3-2 game. In the 7th Smith drove the ball hard with 2 on but the right fielder hauled it in to end the game.

  6. While listening to the game on the radio, it was hard to tell if and when we were follwing Nin or Nino Marrero, but it was interesting, that is for sure….
