It is not really a job, but Ragsdale High School’s Elliot Cobb will be attending Washington and Lee University and playing football for the Generals in the fall of 2010…..

News on Elliot Cobb the former Ragsdale Tiger who helped take the TIgers to Round Three of the NCHSAA 4-A football playoffs this past fall, while starting and starring on the offensive line for Coach Tommy Norwood’s squad……

Cobb an offensive lineman has decided to attend Washington and Lee
University in Lexington Va. He was offered a position in February based on successful
admission. He was accepted about a week ago, but had to wait on some final details in the process of locking down his grant to the Lexington, Virginia college.

If our history serves us properly, both George Washington and Robert E. Lee have strong ties to the home of the Generals in Lexington….W&L will battle many Old Dominion(ODAC) foes in the fall, including our own Guilford College Quakers and Elliot will also go up against his old high school teammante and linemate Tyler Ritter….

Looks like Tyler and Elliott get to face each other for another 4 years, as Tyler takes his game to Hampden-Sydney, another ODAC institution….

Coach Tommy Norwood and all of the fans and followers of Ragsdale Tiger football have to be very proud of the large number of Tiger seniors that are moving on to play football at the next level in college……

Huge opportunity. The grades it takes to get in that school are off the chart. This is a great opportunity for Elliott. A chance to continue playing while attending one of the most elite and very best academic schools in the country. Elliott, we are all happy for you. Congratulations to the Cobb family from the Sparks family.
