Special to Greensborosports.com:

On Thursday of this week, it becomes the official day that for womens basketball
that coaches can make their alloted phone call to a prospective student athlete.

Each college coach from around the nation will have the freedom to do that. Also
during a time period of this month, it will be open period for coaches to watch
prospective student athletes play during AAU events. They are only allowed to make a
call to a junior or a non signed senior who will be graduating in 2011 or 2010
respectively.

During the month of July coaches will be allowed to make two phone
calls and attend another open period to make their pitch for that junior player .
The open period is normally called Live Period per the NCAA sanctioned rules. In
Guilford County it is going to be very interesting to see how many of our women
student athletes that will receive that all important call starting Thursday and
through out the month of April and July.

Good luck to all the young student athletes that have worked very hard both in the class room and on the court and lets get some feedback, so that we can acknowlege our student athletes.
