Grimsley JV Baseball – TRIPLE PLAY!

The Grimsley JV baseball team thrilled both teams and spectators last night with rarely done “triple-play”. The batter tried to put down a sacrifice bunt while the runners on first and second were attempting to steal. Cole Leonard (Grimsley catcher) caught the attempted bunt in the air for the first out, threw to Derick Bott (Grimsley first baseman) for the second out and then Derick threw to Taylor Irvin (Grimsley shortstop) covering second base to complete the triple play.

  1. I saw the triple play, it was great, NW baserunners fell asleep on the basepaths. NW won easily in 6 innings, 12-2 I think. NWJV have an excellent team this year, great hitting and decent pitching. Play Glenn tonight at NW for grudge match if the field is not too wet from last nights rain.

  2. I have been hearing very positive comments about that NWG JV team and the entire JV season with football through basketball and now on to baseball, and all has gone real good for the coaches and the kids from what I have been hearing since back in September…..

How about those fields for tonight????? What are the HS baseball fans seeing and hearing????? I heard that in High Point it only rained for about an half hour, but that it came down real hard in that time frame….

Will all play tonight and SWG and HP Andrews must have started last night at 6 and been by 7 with the 10-run rule in effect to get their game in on Thursday….

Again, a good job turned in this year by the NWG JV’s and let’s hope the coaches and the players continue to reap the rewards of their hard work and one more SHOUT OUT to Grimsley on that “Triple Play of the Day”….Good job Whirlies!
